I seldom use my heated grips with winter gloves, as they only heat up the inside and as soon as you move your hand off the grip to brake etc, you lose the heat. OK for longer open road trips I guess.

My rough calculation puts me at between 6 and 700 000km. Probably done less than half that on 4 wheels.

I have yet to see a paint or even powder coat which successfully handles the heat on the headers.

I find a lot of cleaners have ingredients that are either abrasive, or too harsh. For oily stuff I use paraffin and a small paint brush. It seems to be kinder on surfaces.

I rode the 900XR with quick shifter when my bike went in for service. I found that shifting without clutch on my own bike was a lot smoother than the quick shifter on the XR, I was not at all impressed with it.

Its the R&D thats so expensive. Getting that extra hew HP's take a lot of work.

In all honesty, I wouldnt do a thing. Let it stand for 4 months. Before you use it again, top up the battery and ride it.
