I managed to get he seat off without using the key. I think the lock is fubar but I recon I am going to disconnect the cable from the lock end and cable tie it to the subframe so I can open the seat manualy without the need for a key to avoid further issues while on a ride.
I have tried that. It seems that there is a blockage in the lock. Is it possible that a component in the lock has shifted and now blocks they key going all the way in.
Yesterday I wanted to take the seat off to access the tool bag. The problem is that the key will not go all the way into the seat lock. It goes in very smoothly but seems to be blocked by something.

Transkei is still the ultimate riding area. Conditions look amazing. We did the Wildcoast Eco route from Port St Johns through to Kei Mouth before I headed over this side. We had to deal with a lot of rain and mud....most fun I have had on a bike😀
