I've done a few long multi day rides on my XChallenge (stock seat, aka 200mm plank) - 1800km in 3 days, with some 640km days here and there
Off road/gravel it is totally fine, but long stretches on tar at 120km/h +, at the end of a 3 day ride seriously chows my butt.
On day 3 of a previous trip...
Hmmm, difficult one this - and so many factors to consider
How old are? Still enough time to make major changes? If so, start working on it.
What do you do currently? Can you enhance your current skills to set you up for advancement in your industry?
Or do you really not want to do that...
The freedom and sense of adventure that our gravel road network opens up is just so much more than what you can experience on tar - and 80% of it rideable by pretty much any rider.
My dad started riding a motorcycle at 71, and within 6 months joined us on a 3 day, 1400km trip, of which about...
I must say, so far it is encouraging when I look at the number of years/mileage most had done, compared to serious injuries.
Unfortunately a fair share seem to be caused by another party, which can not be prevented to a large degree
I will keep riding, but possibly even more carefully...
Yeah, a peaked adventure helmet all the way - for the sun mainly
But I hate the buffeting and wind noise, not helped by my height on the bike, so have touring screens on the 950 and XChallenge -> then wind is zero issue
Here's mine, as far as I remember
1. Total number of years riding - 6
2. No. of falls or accidents that lead to injuries that kept you of a bike for a while, required proper recovery/operations/etc - 2
3. Nature of injuries - broken foot when I fell in our driveway with my MTX50; buggered...
We all know, as per the current "nasty accident" thread that our sport/hobby/passion is not exactly the safest out there - accidents/falls and injuries are common.
If there is an existing older thread like this, pls point me to it?
Otherwise it would be interesting to see the following:

I must say it does make me think seriously about the much increased risk of serious consequences that high speed and being lax wrt rules of the road brings.
I am a relatively safe, relaxed/slow rider most of the time, but it is easy to get carried away, be over confident and feel untouchable on...
The way I read it is he saw the previous car overtake and saw the wide yellow barrier lines as a "reasonable" space to overtake - and pinned it to get past quickly. Then he sees the truck in front start moving over into the barrier lines, and drifts further inward himself to avoid that truck...
