I have always done a hot drain and then run diesel through the filler plug which flushes out the sediment in the sump. Run diesel (engine off) until the diesel comes out clear from the drain plug. Let it all drain out and then refill.... you will surprised how much the diesel still pulls out of...

A used crutch can be picked for as little as R20 from a pawn shop.... lop the top off and it makes a perfect adjustable catch stand for rear wheel (y)
