Hi everyone.
I'm putting together a "XaaR-Fest". XR's and XL's hitting the farm roads en masse.
(OK, even you okes in Orange and other non-red colours are of course welcome.) :thumleft:
Meeting at Bapsfontein market @ 8:30am in Sunday 22 June, then heading to Bronkhorstspruit, Refuel in town, then to Red Star Raceway to grab something to drink and watch the action on the circuit, then to Delmas for another refuel and coffee,we'll head back to Baps, Making it almost exactly 150km.
I have GPX fliles and basic roadbook in PDF format. PM me to receive.
Bapsfontein is easily accessible from anywhere on the East rand, as well as the Northern areas. It has been cleaned up and is no longer a "Squatter camp". The little market is quite rustic and there is a nice big gravel parking lot to fill up.
It's opposite the old Bapsfontein Hotel, whose sign still stands there..
Fuel is also nearby.
The riding isn't particularly technical. We'll ride long farm roads with gravel, some loose pebbles, some thick sand,
and in the third section we'll ride some railway service roads.
In between we'll find any opportunity to stop for pics, coffee, exploring, fuel, etc.
Below is a link to a proposed route. If anyone knows of better routes please feel free to chip in.
