Lekker trip vannie kaap oor scherpenheuwel na Bokveld vir n standaard Montague lunch (boerewors,jam en brood) lekker. Toe oor Ouberg met n volspan

Ouberg in top vorm met n paar water kruisings- Groot vind vir die naweek was die moderne Camel Man ADV rider/Crocodile Dundee wat lang elektriese kabels uit hul tente kom--nie vir die ketel of musiek maaaar vir elektriese kombers-- aai mense- is dit menshealth of wat.

Saturday we split in all directions for a ride

Saturday night was good meeting the world famous Throttle Jockey with highly pregnant better half-wish you well with pregnancy Firecoast. 
Big thanks ROVRAT for following us everywhere just in case of mishap

I was looking for a place to post my only two pics from this past weekends Thumpers Bash and rides.
1st was on the way to the Bash over the Breederivier
2nd was the outride on Saturday to Gamkaskloofdam (sorry, I did not notice its out of focus, but still interesting display)

Breinsel and I left Cape Town at about 9am on Friday and came in via Ouberg pass.  Lots of fun through the numerous drifts, although I hit a rather large submerged pothole in one that almost sent me tumbling! ...Lesson learnt.

We were dressed for the cold but the ambient temp was soon showing 32C so we had to stop to shed some layers.  We sommer used the stop for a quick photo op.


We were the first two souls at Koedoeskloof, and for a while we wondered if we maybe got the date wrong.


A panoramic shot of the parking lot full of thumpers (and un-thumpers).  At one stage I realised that my Tiger, even with "only" 3 cylinders, was still the most un-thumperish bike there, all the others having 2 cylinders at most.  I really wanted to attend with my DR-Z 400, but unfortunately it's still suffering from carb issues.

Unfortunately panoramic pics probably don't really work unless in full resolution.

On Saturday we went for a brilliant outride, heading West back the way we came, before cutting North up to the R323, then back East to the Gamkapoort dam and then back to Koedoeskloof via Seweweekspoort.  Here we're getting in touch with our roots on the old oxwagon-thing on the way to the dam.  ATGATT, of course.


Ultimately a very enjoyable event.  Many thanks to Koedoeskloof and the organisers!  We'll certainly be back next year.

Preditor and myself slabbed up the N2 and then jumped on the R62 on the way there, with the obligatory stop at Ronnies for a cold one ...or two.
Saturday saw us heading off to Prince Albert via Kruis Rivier and Swartberg pass along with Lance and Zanie. And what a lekker ride it was. Brilliant weather , great scenery and good company .
Sunday Preditor and myself headed back to Montaque via Ouberg Pass . We came across a family on a couple of KLR, s and a Honda NC 700 that had damaged the front rim in a driffie and where stuck with a flat tyre. Anyways , with one large hammer and Preditors brute strength we managed to beat the mag rim back into shape and got them back on the road again. We left a very happy family indeed.
Sunday night was spent at Guano Caves just outside Montaque where we had a rustige braai and got a good nights sleep ;D
Monday morning had a freezing ride back to Somerset West.
