This is the ultimate adventure route in SA. - Rough, tough and remote as they get.
This was always going to be an extreme challenge, with over 1200km of unforgiving adventure track over 4 days, Our group of 9 riders seldom hung back and finnished the trip without incident and all the bikes intact.
Special mention to Geoff taking the big KTM1190R to places no other 1190 has gone before and coming out without a scratch. Unbelievable what these big beasts can do in capable hands.
Not only the bikes but also Giedeon Joubert (Verniel de Villiers) and co-pilot Annette who were seldom more than a couple of seconds behind the bikes in the trusty Hilux 4x4 back-up truck. The remote nature of the route meant over 600km without a gas station and the support was a must. What a bonus pulling a cold Coke out of the fridge deep into the Richtersveld. Thanks guys.
We have a gap in our schedule in early September and mid October and we're concidering another one of these trips if there's enough interest.
Day 1
This was our easy day, a ride up to the Orange River via the metropolis of Pofadder. The last hour included the first section of the Namaqua 4x4 trail and definitely was the days highlight.
