Quote >Next Wednesday the 14th here at the shop. Just a chilled evening, a beer or two and see what this couple has been doing.

SO FAR:
we started the journey on April 17, 2013
we crossed 43 countries
122.000 km

Motorcycle: Yamaha Tenere XT660Z model 2012

Project: Around Gaia
www.aroundgaia.com
www.facebook.com/aroundgaia
www.instagram.com/aroundgaiaofficial

Goal:
Travel around the world
Visit every continent from end to end
Only in one and unique motorcycle the whole journey
No using GPS or any other tools for navigation
No hotels. We must find the way to sleep every single day. Is the way we found for no just save money, but mainly because sharing the roof with the people of different cultures, traditions, religions or races we can learn much more from the people of this planet, to open our mind and our follower´s, and to fulfill our project of stories and experiences. In this 3 and half years on the road we didn´t pay no one time for accommodation.
We avoid to come back home, we have to solve every obstacle without to come back home

Caracteristics of our journey:
No previous experiences riding motorcycle.
No mechanical  knowledge
No planification, we think only on the day by day
We start this project without very much money saved.
No budget for accommodation. We need to find the way to pass the night without to pay for it (until now in almost 3 and half years we didn´t pay for no one night in hotel, what it allow us to share roof with people from every kind of religion, race, culture or nationality, and also including fire stations, police stations, religious temples, hospitals, ... Making our travel ful of stories and experiences.

NEXT:
Africa, our last continent, from South to North (to come back to Europe and complete the project).

All Yamahas, Three of them going around the world. I met these people at Jungle junction in Kenya. In the middle is a Slovenian couple who also is traveling around the world and has done 120 000km so far on their 660 Tenere's. Myself on the xt 660 R and on the left a German guy who started in Germany on a bicycle then got tied of that and bought a Chinese bike and when he got to Durban after 30 000km the Chinese bike was at the end of its live. He then bought this little Yamaha to travel back to Germany with.
Very good of Yamaha Helderberg to give exposure to these people above, we need more dealers like that in SA

so, the two round-the-World travelers visited the Flying Brick Store this morning, with Andy660 (well-known local Yamaha 660 rider Andy Ross bringing them in for his well-known "Bead Master' bead breakers that we stock/sell....

Here is a synopses of where they have been, and where they are headed: https://www.aroundgaia.com/

....On April 17, 2013 Ivana (Macedonia · 1982) and Manuel (Spain · 1982) begin a journey without deadline proposed cross every continent from one end to the other on a motorcycle. The only planning that was done was to choose 3 places on our planet (Uluru in Australia, in Argentina and Deadhorse in Alaska) that would become their checkpoints, from a number of rules is established to promote the surprises, growth staff and contact with different ethnic groups and cultures:
The whole trip would be on the same bike.
Neither GPS nor maps. The route will leave his signs which he must learn to read, locals recommend directions and places to see.
All problems, obstacles and adversities that arise should be resolved in the same place, without returning home.
No budget accommodation. We will have to find a different way each day to spend the night.
Adventures and travel are the main ingredients Around Gaia will consider to introduce a philosophy of life different from you the push you need......
Welcome, Ivana & Manuel! Enjoy Cape Town, and the trip ahead of you both...
