The RR of Prinsloos's Kloof

The ride planning started with …

From the word go, I cannot make the ride, my wrist is note quite up to long distance riding yet (that’s my story and I’ll stick to it), but…  When I contacted the farm owner last year he was quite open to riders riding and camping on their land (at their own risk) …


I ended up riding with sixteen brave souls looking for Mr Prinsloo and company…  Some riders well prepared with heaps or at least litres of Dutch Courage – apparently it helps to keep ghosts at bay, an African wooden mask - some good luck charm' I hoped, and a Harley – not certain how that was gone help.

Whichever way, this ghost was in for some serious trouble…

Need to get myself and my cloths clean and catch up on some sleep… 

Oh yea, we found another more scenic route into Baviaans !!  Will post details later.

So moeg soos wat ek is wil ek nie eers weet hoe julle ouens voel vanaand nie.   Ek het nie die helfte van die kilos gedoen wat jul gedoen het vandag nie.

Maar die trip was great!!! :ricky:    was goed om weer nuwe (en oud) gesigte te ontmoet!

Thanks to my riding companions, it was great to have you all along with me.

ok, heres my part of the report and a few pics of the trip:


On Sat 15th Jan we met up with Leftless and Trailrider and a couple more guys at 7h00 in george.
From here we headed to Sedgefield to meet up with LetsGofishing and in Knysna we met up with Chrisl as well.

From here we took "Kom se pad" to the Prince Alfred pass on our way to Avontuur where we were to meet up with Rooipoot.

In Avontuur we met up with Rooipoot.  At this stage we were 11 guys in the group, with each of us on a different model bike!
(in the end we were 17 bikes,  I think,  with the 2 Transalp 650s being the only doubles in model! )

From here we took the other part of the R62 to Joubertinia where we stopped for lunch after which we headed to Kareedouw where we met up with the rest of the guys at Assegaaibosch.

We heard the story of the ghost and decided to get Harry Potter to join us, just incase we need that kind of help  :imaposer:


From here we were guided by two bakkies to the campsite    (at a CRAWLING pace!)









Finally we arrived at the campsite and everyone started unpacking.

Something I forgot to mention,  when we stopped at Joubertinia for food, Horsepower noticed something in the trash.
It was a African type wooden mask, in good condition as well.

As we were on our way to go Ghost hunting  : , I decided that this would become our 'Mascot'

Later the night, the party got well underway, and needless to say, even if the ghost of Jan Prinsloo was right next to us, there wasn't a lot of guys that would have noticed

From here on I didnt take pics anymore. My cammeras battery died  (thats my story and im sticking to it)  ;D
