Just took my F800GS for it's annual service (Oct 2008 model.) It has under 15000 km on the clock of which around 4000 km were on gravel roads. I had the front wheel axle replaced under recall before I had done 5000 km and now I have been told that my front wheel bearings are shot to the extent that it is "dangerous" to ride. Has anybody else had this problem with their front wheel bearings? What could have caused this? It worries me that I have been to very remote places recently with dangerously worn front wheel bearings. What would happen in the event of a total failure?
