Omega Carbon Fibre Tanks

Bolt on and go? One hour job?

So I got hold of a set of Omega Carbon Fibre tanks to increase my fuel capacity and therefore my range.

So these puppies...



needed to be fitted onto these...



Problem is, that this one freekin bolt's insert was turning with and there was no way we could get it out other than pretty much mutilating the tank. This is what happens when people (read "previous owners") use locktite on places they shouldn't :dousing:



So I bought another dome nut, to replace the fitting that was in there, and pratley steel expoxy'ed it in there...





It worked like a charm. I greased an M6 bolt and screwed it in there, then epoxy'ed it all the way up to the bolt, so that the dome nut was fully covered and will now hopefully stay in there and not turn inside...

As for the indicators, I had to undo the terminals inside the unit, because the plastic fittings are too big to go through the holes.



Then I had to do some plumbing... (No cracks were shown during the making of this thread)



I fitted and removed them a coupla times to get the lengths and position of the fuel pipes just right.







And when I was happy, I fitted the crash bars etc.
