And….?? What’s the other side like? A mate and I had tried it last October but turned around after the river crossings at the bottom started getting too much and thinking the pass would be much worse. Perhaps it was worked on in the few months in between? I am keen to try it out again after...
Thanks for the excellent RR. Sounds like another excellent trip! Yes with a few ups and downs but that adds to the adventure and creates the memories that will last a lifetime! I am curious to hear what you all did with tyre pressures given the varied terrain and whether you didn’t bother...
What time of year are you planning to go? Offroad in the black cotton soil can be a nightmare in the rainy season. Consider the Hunter’s Road which runs up the border between Zim and Bots. It’s a twee spoor road entering at Mpandamatenga up to Kasane. Are you camping?
Truly amazing RR and trip! Thanks again for the effort in putting it all together. The Matopos is a really spectacular area which definitely leaves indelible memories! I would love to do this trip sometime soon.
Glad to hear it ended reasonably well for both! I am curious as to how you got to the Hwange Safari Lodge. Did you have to leave the bikes at the park gate and catch an Uber in?
Wow, an amazing trip indeed. Really enjoying this RR. Great photos. Thanks for the time and effort to put it together. I would love to do that on a bike some day. Brings back good memories of trips through Zim. Glad to see life is getting back to a semblance of normality there.
Watching with interest as I would love to do something similar. I once met a guy at Cederberg Oasis on his 300 but am not sure if you are allowed to ride off-road in those parts.
Thanks mister and missus Vis Arend for a great RR! That donkie karretjie has lots of tricks up it’s sleeve for those pitstop braais and brekkies. Baie lekker!!
Great RR Visarend. Beautiful scenery and makes me very lus to explore that area. I think you made the right choice with going with the sidecar as I think that sand would have not been as easy if one was too laden on the smaller bikes. The video also makes it look very smooth but I presume that...
Thanks for a great RR Bruce!! The Kaokoveld never seems to disappoint. Now I just need to find a good marriage councillor to convince my wife that such a trip would be an excellent tonic!! ;) Btw how did that new seat hold out for the trip? Any mods to make to it as I am keen to pad mine up a...
