Hello Pete. I gave up and bought another DR650, they are still pretty new here. Went for a ride from Bowen River Lodge to the Burdekin dam over the last couple of days with Debbie.
Sidetrack. I ride it (the tech stuff) often. The CRF is a nice ride and very quiet but as much of a lump weight wise as the new DR I've eventually aquired. I gave in and got a replacement. The KLX300 is substantially lighter and easier to throw around than the CRF and also the Yamaha we never...
Lot of familiar places here Jon, nice to see the Tsoelike valley again. Great to see Trevor riding again. Have to admit I haven't put my Tubliss back in after leaving RSA, much easier going here.
Both of my faithful Etrex units have gone tits up so I have had to change. I have got on quite well with an android phone with OSMand but I am leaning towards the free level of Giai GPS because you can plan a track on your computer on OSM or earth and share it with your phone. Track recording is...
We've adjusted. We are citizens now, my wife has a real passport to use. I feel more respected and useful in my job as a hospital consultant dentist than I ever did in RSA. The riding is limited but I've just been on a 3 day ride sleeping out with a swag with a nice couple of guys on KTM890's in...
In the WFO in the 80's we had a veteran called Ken Whittlesea who was a bit flash with his white 7 series Beemer and his white KTM's. Ken had a lot of bikes but they were all white and he kept them at Keith Dovey's place so his wife only ever saw one white bike at a time and I'm sure to this day...
Thanks to that photo I know know exactly the day I got the large scar on my arm and why I bled like a stuck pig when I got pissed at prize giving. I genuinely believed that Mr Yamaha had put something very important on my bike and I wouldn't have dreamt of trying to ride without it.
Didn't realise that they'd made it into RSA. I've got one, at 126kg fueled up and with a big flywheel weight that makes it feel like an old KTM450 this is no lightweight 200 2 stroke. But you will LOVE the grunt. Swap out the 13 front for a 15 and a big tank it makes a pretty good adventure...
