That is my other bike. 11 years old more than 100k km on the clock still ticking along. I have just been reading ride reports about Hardy's trips and felt a lighter bike makes more sense. The fact that my youngster can ride the DR and join me on some trips is a bonus.

Bike was received in good order yesterday. Now to get to know it and then get hold of Hardi for his next Kaokaland trip.

It's apparently a known thing for panniers to cause snaking. My 990 starts snaking at around 160 also. Triumph sorted this out with a flexible pannier connection. I see KTM is offering this in their power parts catalogue for their KTM panniers on the 1290. I have played with it and weight...

Your KTM 12 000 or 120 000 km's? If it's 12 000 then the Yamaha might last.

Danie you got it wrong. You can buy the KTM if you want. So all the KTM's are off the floor Rally bikes. The Dakar is full of KTM because you can buy the bike. The Yamaha and Honda are only for factory team riders.They are as standard as the race winning Mini. So in all their specialty not one...

My understanding is most manufacturers would carry the PDI cot. Even if they didn't when I buy a bike from you the sales price should include all these extras. It is part of the cost of sale. They are trying to push cost of sales down to you.

Sadly he can't do that. To do that he would have to ride a Jap bike too. :ricky:
