So  the side stand switch was the culprit.  I sorted it out by cutting the wires and shorted green with green/white.  Sometimes you mustn't overthink think things.

I'm pretty sure it's the side stand switch. I have three wires green, green/black and yellow/black.  Which wires can I short together to bypass the switch? Photo now attached - at the bottom is the wires from the switch to the connector.

New problem - since I sorted the problem with the spark everything was fine until this morning. Now Babe dies when I put her in gear. Idling fine, he just cuts out when I put him in gear Any idea why ?

    Dead spark plug

I already posted in the old school AT section but I'm posting this here as well since AT owners are like the bikes they ride - great people but not very quick.  I need some advice.  In Jan I changed oil and plugs.  For about a month everything was fine then 1 day the bike lost power. ...

I need some advice.  In Jan I changed oil and plugs.  For about a month everything was fine then 1 day the bike lost power.  I checked the plugs and found the problem with the right front plug.  It felt as if the spark plug was loose so I wedge some pratly putty in until I got home which seemed...

Looks like CT is the answer as I can't find anything in Pta. A couple years ago a friend helped me service my bike. At the time he had to buy a complete set of 5 plug spanners from Midas Silverton just to get the right 1. Now he wants Zamalecks just so I can borrow the fucking thing.  I have no...

Welcome to the club.  Mine is a 98 model with 129000km on the clock and apart from a small hick-up now and then I am very happy. As one pundit described the bike "No ABS, No gay stuff just good brakes"  PS: Its cleaner than my bike

Thanks for the feedback.  The invoice (copy attached) does not say what was done. I appreciate your offer but the AT is my sole mode of transport and the Cape is a bit far. Can I take it back and tell them they overcharged me?

    AT rear shock

I posted this in the tech section but maybe I'll get quicker advise here. I need some advice on my AT.  The VIN shows it is a RD07 1998 but the engine is recorded as RD04.  However this should not be relevant.  Beginning of Dec I had the rear shock serviced for R 3,700. About 3 months later...
