Consider doing the valving along wiht the new springs. It makes a big diffference, as trying to compensate with the clickers for the the stiffer spring is inadequate and leads to high speed compression and rebound problems. These you will notice when you get off road...

On my 2007 990, I have had .54's and valving from Martin Petzold and now .59's with valving from Mike Fuchs. I heard  a story that the 950 and 990 till 2010 had the undersrpung front end so as to ride more similarly to the BMW, i.e. built to carry a load on the back, art moderate speeds, not...

being the 990 in frort... I can tell you guys it was touch and go for me too... 990's dont handle like smaller bikes, and that kind of impact is difficult to deal with as they are so front heavy. it was a down hill as someone was perceptive enough to pick up, but i did manage to get on the gas...
