TE 610, spares and getting work done, recommendations?

The A was the original.  I just bought this and never rode it yet unfortunately.  I think it has 23,0000km or so if I remember correctly.  Was a noisy engine when I got it.  Expecting it back soon so I can actually ride it!

Yep. Apparently Husky used to make an a, b, and c piston.  A being the smallest and c being the largest.  There was an “A” in there and we needed a larger one now — a “B” which they don’t produce any more of course.  Hence the need for the Woessener. So probably, yes, the bore wasn’t suitable.

Not sure.  The mechanic simply said it wasn’t suitable.

Wiseco doesn’t fit.  Importing the Wossner. Also ordered a complete gasket set from Athena.eu

2009 TE 610 Gasket set available?

Ok, in case anyone else is looking for a complete gasket set, I ordered the Athena complete set.  I compared original Husky part numbers to the visual look of the base and head gaskets, clutch cover gaskets, water pump gaskets, etc on the Athena website and they seem to be the same from 2001...

For the piston we’re going to see if a Wiseco is going to fit.  Failing that, will have to import a Wossner.

2009 TE 610 Gasket set available?

Hi there.  Yes, have asked Bikers and a few other places — waiting for an answer.  Have also written Halls but would definitely prefer a local place to import it etc if available.

Will do.  Issue seems to be I need to replace my “A” piston with a “B”.  So trying to source that as well as a new gasket set.

2009 TE 610 Gasket set available?

Hello! My 2009 TE610 is currently apart at a mechanic and I’m looking for a gasket set as he can’t source one locally.  Would anyone possibly have one they’re willing to part with?    (And perhaps a “B” piston while we’re at it?) Please PM me if so!  Just thought I’d check here before going on...

Thanks, will do.  Yes, I'm actually suprisingly chilled to spend a bit of cash to get this sorted -- as everything I've read tells me this is the bike I want to be riding ...

So an update.  Motor fully disassembled.  I was told all looks in spec and good -- only thing is the piston had some carbon build up (cleaned off) and seems a bit loose in the cylinder -- and thus that could be the only explanation they say.  Hence I'm looking to source a new "B" piston (in case...

Thanks, chopperpilot.  The bike is at Offroad cycles at the moment -- but will pass on your mesage to them to have a look ...  (checking valves is perhaps the deepest I've gone into maintenance -- have no experience actually opening the motor).  Still waiting for them to get back to me in...

Thank you Neo-ZA, much appreciated.  Somehow missed your post earlier!

Tensioner is at 6 or 7 clicks so seems ok.  I did adjust the valves ( three times to be sure I got it right  :P ).  Finally brought it to the mechanic with it sounding like — audio attachment in the first post of this thread.

Thanks chopperpilot.  Yes, looks like carbon fibre and the person I bought it from said Blazes did have a look at his bike so probably from him.  He said he bought it from someone in the Cape area when he got it and brought it to Joburg.  He said it also had the power up / bypass setup on it and...
