Thanks for the input. Have used the same lid since I've had it and my hearing has deteriorated :ROFLMAO: so I'm sure it's the motor sound. Ride it hard but maintain it properly. Will ask them about the cam Chain issue

I've got a R1250r with about 11000km on the clock. The motor seems to be getting more noisy for the last 1000km or so. Nothing terrible but noiser than it was. Still under warranty but the dealers will say "what noise, it's fine". Anyone else experienced this with a 1250?

Funny you mention Kazungula. Was dreading it from previous experience. It's brand new, one building for both Zambia & Bots, accept credit card, no cash needed. In & out including covid office visit in 25 minutes. Fastest African border crossing I've ever done

Don't need a carnet for Tanzania. Lent a friend of mine (foreigner) my personal car with a rented trailer in August 2023. He drove from cape town to Dar via Zim, Zambia and Malawi. I flew up & drove back down but skipped Zim and went from Zambia to Botswana rather. No problems. You need letters...

For what it's worth, I've had the s and r. S had 112000km when I stripped the driveshaft. No engine issues on either. Amazing bikes
