Had a timely rest day today after a few long days in the saddle.
The body is surprisingly fine after 14 months of virtually no exercise. Clearly my physio Paula did a fantastic job!
We managed to get all of our kit laundered and polished ready for the next week’s action.

It also does bring you back to reality and shows how dangerous this sport can be.
My heart goes out to his family.

Had a good day today. Was long and tough. Mostly rocky roads again with a 20km dune section and a 6 km sandy riverbed. I caught Joey in the dunes and we rode 400km together which was awesome. 9 odd hours on the bike. Feeling a lot more confident and comfortable.

Today we are busy setting up the individual preferences on the bike setup and fitting the nav gear.
We do scrutineering at 8am tomorrow and then ride the bikes to parc ferme in Monte Carlo.
Tomorrow evening at 7pm is the ceremonial start...
