Where does one find a Yuasa battery near Cape Town (Somerset West) these days? I've had two Motobatt AGM batteries now, neither lasted nearly as long as the original Yuasa.
Also shopping for a battery now. Motobat lasted 2 years. I commute on bike, so battery doesnt get discharged to low levels. And even if it did, discharging to a low level is supposed to be a strength of an AGM battery :xxbah:

I have a holiday booked in May. With Trump locking down 'Merica and who knows what to come, I think it might be prudent to get some additional travel insurance. There are some other threads about this, but they are all aimed at the medical costs. I have that. Between the...
Ive seen on a thread or two that aluminium washers get mentioned (but in the same breath that copper was supplied eventually). I'm not a metalurgist, so I cannot comment on what washer should be used. What I do know is that the Brinell Hardness Number of Copper (35) is almost twice that of...
Jallas! The bastards gave me a copper washer again >:( (which was another R30 seperately)
I thought about the grinder method, but with my "centre stand" consisting of one "bokkie" under each swingarm, I didnt want to be lying underneath it with a disc spinning at 10000RPM. :laughing4:
Of DIY dit.

I have the 2008 XCountry 650 single, so essentially the same as above. The terribly soft aluminium sump plug stripped in record time. I then proceeding to make it even rounder with various tools and eventually vice-grip until it was perfectly round. A job well done to get...
Start the bike, disconnect the battery and measure the voltage on the disconnected battery terminal wires while idling. Maybe dont touch the terminals :lol8:
I have some good condition gloves for a lady. Free to a good home. I can't vouch for the material without going to look at the label tonight, but in the meantime it is safe to assume that the gloves are not vegan.
:eek7: Luckily I cant. Xcountry has a cut-out switch on the sidestand when you engage 1st gear (and no centre stand).
I agree on the glue etc, but putting some gasket maker or similar over the link might just be a very handy "wear indicator" to check whether the clip is being chafed by a guide...
