Did a preventative maintenance on my old 950 and it already had the upgrade kit fitted
So replaced it for piece of mind but everything was still in good nick..

90% of the time oil usage is down to balancer shaft seal
Not a hard job to replace
Costs about 35 bucks at ktm
Had mine fail on me on a trip thought I lost the motor because mine came apart and had zero seal and smoked
Had to replace the seal the filter clean the airbox.

All clutches are the same 950/990
Only difference is later model 950/990 have a band on the outer basket.

Spring bolt loosening was a common issue on the early 950’s and a bulletin was put out to remove the bolts and loctite them.
