After you have cleaned out the Rust, refill with vinegar or 5 % diluted acetic acid, use a old cell charger and a piece of zinc to re zinc plate the tank in the inside. Search on you tube and there is a video on home zinc plating that will help. You basically attach the one wire of the charger...
