I got my brand new CRF300L end of last year posted some thoughts here:

Since then I have added some pimpin' upgrades from Flying Brick - thanks guys!
I have also adjusted the rear preload some more and it makes quite a difference. It seems IMS is working on a long range tank and that will solve the range issue. Another option is just to get two small (3liter) fuel bladders and secure them somewhere.
Still loving the little bike.
