So I had an off and my 2013 NC700X was written off (vehicle turned without indicating) and insurance is paying out. I have a broken clavicle so at this point I'm investigating (2 weeks of Youtube reviews) and not doing test rides.

I commute to work (JHB to Centurion and back) and currently do around 12k km per annum (excl weekend rides / tours). I looked at all options and I am leaning towards the following:

2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sports - budget around R220k - R230k km between 1600 - 16000km
Why: Range of  at least 350 km
ABS, cornering ABS, electronic suspension, off-road ability, standard heated grips, ride by wire, riding modes, cruise control
Add on: Top box

2019 Africa Twin Adventure Sports - budget around R190k km around 16000km
Why: Range of  at least 350 km
ABS, adjustable suspension, off-road ability, standard heated grips, ride by wire, riding modes
Add on: Top Box

2022 NC750X - budget around R140k new
Why: Range of  at least 350 km
ABS, ride by wire, riding modes, some power increase over my model
Add on: Heated grips

Yes these are all Honda's. Yes I looked at other brands but at this stage I am leaning towards these options. I tend to pay off a bike and keep it till the wheels fall off. I preferred to avoid dirt roads with my NC. I never felt comfortable with road tires and the stock suspension.

I never felt I needed more bike than the NC. I wanted more but selling an old bike with close to 80k km on it did not seem like an option. Now I have some choice.

Common sense says buy the new NC, have a 2 year warranty and stick to tar. But I have an opportunity now to buy a bike that has dirt capabilities and open my riding options. 90% of my riding will still be commuting but the open road does call...

Any owners of the above bikes that can comment?
