Ever heard the sound of a "clinging" front sprocket? How does one solve this?
For years I have been riding, without worrying.
First time I heard a front sprocket making a clinging noise is when I fitted a smaller front sprocket to a CRF250L.
A good Italian sprocket solved the issue, but now my CRF300L has a "clinging" front sprocket from new.
The problem is play between the sprocket and shaft splines, causing premature wear to the output shaft?
How does one solve this?
A meticulous mechanic greased the splined shaft on fitting the front sprocket. Is this the solution? And what grease to use (there seems to be quite a debate)?
