So….as appears to be a common problem, my front discs are rattling like hell. Alot of free movement, probably more than 2-3mm fore-aft.

I am looking for some advice about the best solution:

1. Have the bobbins replaced by GM Works (R100 each, R1200 total), if the carrier not too buggered

2. Replace with aftermarket Galfer discs at R3k each, eina.

3. Solid, non-floating options? Not sure about the merits of these. As far as I can see the 950’s run solid discs and they seem to stop fine. My rear is already a solid disc and I have not experienced any ill effects.

4. Klap the disc bobbin collar with a hammer and socket to seat better and stop rattling. Seems like a short-sighted solution, as from what I have read it appears the the soft material on the OEM disc carriers are the problem, as the wear away.
