At 70 I'm getting too damn old to kick these buggers anymore. I'm looking for R40K for both or R19K for Bike A and R21K for Bike B.

They were both assembled in Japan in 1993. Their VINs are quite close. They're both fully road legal and registered in my name.

These bikes are the road legal version of the XR250R of that time. They use the RFVC motor and push out a pleasing amount of power compared to the XL motor. They come with no batteries and rudimentary electrics.

Apart from rinsing the mud off one of them I haven't polished and scrubbed like I should have. Sorry!

Bike A (the white one, bought from Andrew) is fairly original. 37K km on the clock. Stock engine but new rings. It uses no oil. Has an unfortunately dented tank and a million scuffs, scratches etc. It's a dirtbike. The header is in poor condition, but still works fine. Choke cable broke, temporary solution fitted years ago.

Bike B (the red one, bought from Bertus) has been buggered around in the past but is now closer to original. 52K km on its clock. The motor has been bored out 1mm by a distantly previous owner. I put a new Wossner piston in. It uses no oil. Has a crappy headlight (I borrowed Bike A's headlight to put it through roadworthy!) and the airbox (out of an XR400R) side cover is from something else. The frame and tank were resprayed some time ago so it's cosmetically a bit better than Bike A. The seat was recovered a few months back. The left hand footpeg mount is bent a bit.

Either or both the countershaft and kickstart lever oil seals on both bikes might be leaking a bit. Both bikes have had their decompression hardware removed. It's not necessary in spite of both bikes having good compression. The parts will be included.

Both bikes have old mousses fitted. This might change with my options on a new bike. In any case the mousses are pretty much at the end of their useful lives. Sprockets and chains are in good condition.

These bikes have been used for commuting and in the Parklands bush for years. Week after week and have never let me down. They flood easily if dropped (this happens often) and are sometimes hard to start again. But they always start.

Speak to me via PM. Then I know the order of business.
