KTM 1190 Adventure
I am inside leg length challenged and with the KTMs built for giants it is more or less time to remedy the problem . I own a 1190 adventure , and upgraded the seats to the POWERPART Ergo seat , well aware that they will make the bike taller but I was more concerned about comfort as one only has to put a foot down when stopping and I reach tip toe :ROFLMAO:
BUT I cant carry on like this , the nearly fall over is getting /becoming a concern and I dont want to drop the bike .
From reports Dion Corky is the best guy for the job and I plan on taking my seat to him to modify . I have concerns and want to ask those that has had seat cut , what is the after experience ?
I would like to cut my ergo seat down a bit and shave the sides in order to try and have a bit more foot on the road . But cutting the ergo seat ( expensive accessory ) could be a waste . and doing my original one first is a added extra cost .
The photos of work done by Dion is top class , but I an well aware that in order to reduce seat hight one has to remove foam and I am not keen to sit on a concrete block doing long rides . after about 400 ks my butt starts protesting ergo seat and all . On my last December trip to Mossel bay and back I was using the full seat , sitting on the back seat as well to stretch legs a bit but also to rest my butt and sit on a different part of the anatomy , dont have a problem doing this . But I would not be to chuffed in cutting the front seat down in order to get a better footing but in the process end up loosing seat comfort on the long rides .
If this be the case then I would rather forfeit the foot down for seat comfort .
let me hear from you that have modified the seat and the results please.
