Now that I have your attention...
I have a friend (we'll call him "Alan") who bought a second-hand bike from someone (we'll call him "Stu") in JHB, who in turn bought the same bike from someone else (we'll call him "Mr. Chow"). My friend Alan, did not know at the time that - the "someone else", Mr. Chow (original owner) relocated to Australia/New Zealand (somewhere they can't play rugby) literally a week after the "someone" (second owner - Stu) who paid the fees and took possession, and then the original owner Mr. Chow - you guessed it... actually DIED two weeks later in the country where they can't play rugby. Supposedly of Covid... And he - Mr. Chow never sent the papers back to SA for Stu to register the bike/hand over to Alan...
So neither the second owner (Stu) nor my friend (Alan) ever got the papers for the bike from the original owner (Mr. Chow)... The second owner (Stu) now just pulls his shoulders up (as he has been paid) and my friend (Alan), who did not know any better at the time, now sits with a bike with no papers... There is also no way of contacting the first owner (Mr. Chow partially because he DIED) as no one knows where his family is... (this happened more than a year ago)
So, what now?
