So I have a friend who wants to sell his 2006 F650 Dakar.
I'm kinda looking for one on the side, but I have a conundrum.
I want to offer him a fair price, but I'm not sure what that is due to the bike's current state.
I went with him when he bought the bike about 12 years ago, so I know the bike and its history.

The bike is bone stock standard and has less than 10 000km on it.
The issue is that he hasn't ridden 500km on it since he bought it.
Its been garaged the whole time he's owned it.
Its not running at the moment but was at the time it was parked.
I haven't checked to see what the issue is.

It will likely need the following: (my assumptions on it having stood for so long)
Injectors cleaned.
Fuel hoses replaced.
Oil hoses replaced.
Fuel filter/pump replaced.
Swing arm bearings replaced.
Chain/sprocket replaced.
Tyres and tubes replaced.
Fork seals replaced.
All filters replaced.
Seat recovered (Maybe ok)
Possible other oil seals need replacement.
Possible front and rear wheel bearing replacement.
Possible steering head bearing replacement.
Battery replacement.
These all add up, even though I will provide the labour.

An '06 with such low mileage and condition should fetch north of R40k, but
the parts required to get it back into shape is probably R15k. Offering him
R25k sounds like an insult.

What to do ??
