These days there are many tutorials on social media trying to teach riders new or old skills , I have been riding for many years and in some cases there are things that I learn , or refresh with . But sometimes most of what they post is now muscle memory , I turn the bike by pushing on the bar , its just done , I dont have to think about it , balls of feet on the foot rest , looking threw the corner , looking where I am/want to go . Riding is almost second nature .
Yes there are thing I cant do and would / sort of like to do and that is pop a wheely , cant do it , As I was forced to learn to use front brake and not rear , to this day I use 90% if not more % front brakes for 99% of braking and I know how much front brake to use and in times when running out of talent know how much to squeeze the front broke to slow enough and turn the bike before running out of road .
But all this said I watch and learn refresh my memory all the time .
So my question is do you watch to learn / refresh or just scroll by? Do you smile silently as the poster mentions things that new riders do wrong and then wonder if you do the same /make same mistake?
When there is a tutorial on how to wheely , do you watch? and think its time to try? in my case , having my right foot far from the brake pedal in most cases I forget to cover the brake so the chance of flipping is big , so trying is aborted . but keen is still there .
Then knee out, hang off , this I do to help turn the bike , its also a auto thing, I do it without thinking , Just have to clarify , the hang off is more moving a ass cheek of the seat on the inside of the turn , just makes the bike turn a bit easier and smoother .
I always say one is never to ald to learn new things , some things are old and imbedded , but seeing it again is good for the memory
