I have finally started building my 76 TS 185 and newly acquired TS 400( 76/77ish still to be determined) The 185 was very complete barn find the 400 another story. I was a bit impulsive on the 185 stripped it about 2years plus and left it, didnt take pics now battling to remember where all the little bits fit. Had the frame blasted and coated, went through the motor which was remarkably good. Had to machine new swingarm bushes, rims spokes etc will plating then rebuild. Unfortunatly forks need to be rechromed (apparantly exspensive) funny thing is the rust pitting is on the exposed stantion that moves through the seals. The fork that goes through the yolks has a headlight metal attachment that forks push through to collect gunge and moisture yet no rust in there,
The 400 is missing the front end speedo cluster lights etc but same as 185 so I know what i am looking for. The rear wheel is missing the cush drive and sprocket assy. Motor is locked solid. Pulled the head off for a quick look piston about half way down. no water evidence from years of standing outside. Bore feels nice no lip felt on the pot, will pull the motor out and investigate further.
Also building a nice new workshop at work bikes only , no cement building tools allowed anywhere near the new building
