I see that the Zumo 550 update is out: https://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1907 Nothing on the Zumo 500 support pages. Not sure if the 550 SW is compatible with the 500. Will check with Avnic tomorrow before trying to install.

Found this really neat Zumo forum. Already picked up a lot of tips and answers to problems. Looks like the new Zumo SW (3.0) may be out early next week. Some of the guys on this forum have Beta versions - seems to be quite an improvement. https://razorbiker.com/zumo/index.php

Thanks! Looking forward to it - will you keep us posted? Did Breedsntek early this morning just to try out the work around (lovely at 07:00). Didn't work to badly. Best to create a route out to your destination and then one back, otherwise she gets a bit confused if you do a loop.

I have taken to using my 35l day pack (Cape Union Mart - Kilimanjaro)when going offroad. Leave the panniers and topbox at home, load what I need for a day trip in the backpack. It has a separate compartment for a bladder. Think mine is a 2l cheapy from Sportsmans. Worked fine so far.

I have had endless problems with the Zumo. Eventually Avnic had it for two weeks but could not sort it out. They confirmed with Garmin USA that it there were a couple of bugs they were working on. I must have spoken to upwards of 15 guys with Zumo's who have all experienced the same problem...

One of the guys at work has developed a work around for the route problem on the Zumo. Granted he is responsible for the development of a high tech missile?..but what the heck. :D 1. Create your route in Mapsource. This may be either using waypoints or the route tool. The file may contain more...
