Oh what have you done to Sani (and lower Petsong) My trip from Cullinan to Sani

Passed through the Dordrecht / Rhodes area in December and some really stunning scenery.  Some good dirt out that way! WB

Zumo 660 map upload issues (and general frustration)

:dousing: I don't disagree with you!  And that's why I have registered my unit, why I have called Garmin (and had great service from Dalton) and why I posted to the forum (and got some great feedback) from experienced users and vendors  :) Oh, and I'm not saying there's a better brand out...

Zumo 660 map upload issues (and general frustration)

Interestingly, if one searches the web, there seems to be a general dislike for the Basecamp software, with lots of complaints around general usability, etc.  Garmin don't seem to be listening to their users much though.  The device itself is great, however it's really painful mapping out custom...

    Spotlight brackets (Touratech type)

Hi, I have a set of LED spots (from Schlowy Customs) currently mounted on my crashbars, but was wondering whether anyone has come across a Touratech-style mounting bracket one could use to mount these below your indicators.  The Touratech spots are ridiculously priced and the ones I have work...

Zumo 660 map upload issues (and general frustration)

Ok, so it seems problem solved - and a combination of my stupidity and crappy software  :) First off, I figured out I actually do have a microSD card in the device, which as been their from day 1.  I "thought" there wasn't one, because I never purchased one explicitly.  What confused things...

Zumo 660 map upload issues (and general frustration)

Thanks Cheetah, I'll be getting onto the Vendors tomorrow.  I can't believe it can be so difficult getting this damn thing to work properly (and I'm very IT literate, which frustrates me even  more!).  Sigh... WB

Zumo 660 map upload issues (and general frustration)

So after spending an entire day on this, I've decided Garmin software and the Zumo 660 really sucks!  I'm about ready to throw this expensive, useless device out the nearest window!  >:( A few questions before I toss this: I'm currently running SSA 2012.3 on Basecamp on my Mac.  the 660...

    Puncture sealant

I'm told it does, however I've not tested it.  There are challenges with certain types of tyre pressure sensors, although you'd need to look the details up on the air-seal site...  I don't have sensors on my S10  :) WB

    Puncture sealant

Hi Kally, I suspect you'll get a lot of mixed reviews around this!  Slime does have a limited life span - I think 2 years?  There are reports of it causing erosion on rims, etc, although I can't confirm this myself.  I personally use something called Air-seal, which is a product used by the...

18 days RSA Namibia and Botswana trip!

These have gotta be some of the nicest photos I've seen of that area!  Makes me want to lock my office, switch off my mobile and hit the road for 2 weeks... WB

The official Yamaha Super Tenere thread

I'll be hitting 20k shortly and expect to run mine, looking at current wear, till around 30k...  I tend to break fairly hard also, and commute every day, so lot's of stop / start riding!

The official Yamaha Super Tenere thread

The spots are really cool, but ridiculously priced!  I've fitted a set of LED spots from Schlowy Customs  (https://www.schlowycustoms.com) at around half the price and they work well.  Comes with a nice looking cover also.  Have them mounted on my crash-bars, so not as nice as the Touratech...

Strange (engine) sound at between 125 - 132km/h

Update:-  So have done around 6500 km's and back from Cape Town and the noise hasn't changed at all...  S10 went like a dream, lots of dirt / passes and tar.  What a superb machine!!! WB

    Yamaha S10 World Crosser..................... droooool

I believe it's in the region of mid R20k or so to add the bits to the standard S10.  If you haven't seen the vids on youtube yet of the Worldcrosser in action, worth a look.  Just search for Worldcrosser. WB

    Power connection for Zumo

On my S10 I have mine wired into the switch thingy next to the battery.  That way the Zumo goes onto battery when I switch the bike off.  Works pretty well. WB.
