    Not sure what you mean by "the numbers are all over the place" but my 2004 display fades on a hot day in direct sunlight. All is still there but the contrast gets low and thus difficult to read.

    Fuel consumption

    Maybe I'm just not "Wild" enough, but on my standard 2005 1200GS, after 60000km I still get >20km/l (<5l/100km) on most tanks. That may include the odd excursion at high speed, but >160 km/r for me is an exception rather than a rule. I suppose your consumption is in your own hands... your right...
