thanks - heard that some people put a beer crate under the sump then strap down tight the bike using the crate to prevent shok bleeds - is this necessary, good/bad idea?

Going on a trip through Zam and Bots, and have to load up bikes through some national parks. some of the guys say we should use ratched straps and others say just pull down ties. Any one got some advise??

I mainly use my KTM 990 Adventure for off-road riding, gravel roads, sand, etc. So maybe 70% dirt and 30% tar. Does anyone know which would be the best rear tyre and how mileage do you think I can get? Any help would be great.

Agree first answer - but some national parks to go through. On second, if my front mud guard / fender is low profile, just a above wheel, shock protector won't work. Heard that tying down put pegs helps lotssss.
