Polorized sunglasses not advised for Bike Riding

I usually buy stalletjie specials as I'm not able to look after my sunglasses very well, they either go missing or brake, but my last pair my my eyes tired so I decided to look into polorized glasses. Today I bought a pair and on my way home was very impressed with them, everything looked HD and...

KLR650 2013 Excessive oil and fuel use

I have read up a bit about the 16t and many people say the downside is that when you do technical sections you ride the clutch more in 1st gear, but that doesnt bother me as I dont like technical stuff at all. I prefer long journeys with a mix of gravel and tarmac roads with speeds of at least...

KLR650 2013 Excessive oil and fuel use

So the lady and I packed the bike yesterday and left Cape Town to join my parents for a small holiday in Mosselbaai, some 350km's away. We had very strong crosswinds and I was constantly running 130kph at around 6000rpm. We only did 250km's before the bike chocked and I had to turn on the...

Attacked by crazy guy on my off-road bike.

Ek haal my hoed af vir jou dat jy dit so kalm hanteer het, die ou kon jou groot skade veroorsaak het. Die man is duidelik mal in sy kop.

    KLR Clutch failure

I'm more of the half clued type, but with a fear of fiddling so I'll leave it to the experts, unless it is a situation where I have no other choice. Then I will quickly take the bike apart. I did check the cables and in my incompetence accepted that it seemed fine. Lesson learned. Trust me...

    KLR Clutch failure

Slap me in the face and call me stupid. lecap was correct, it was the cable. There was one nut closes to the "levertjie" which I did not check properly, they fastened it and all is good with the world again. Bike is coming home tonight, cant wait!

    KLR Clutch failure

Hey Doc, Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. They are picking the bike up from me tomorrow and will repair it, I'll try and keep a close eye on them. When you mention oil change, is that transmission or gearbox? And do they have to do two oil changes? One no and one 500 km's later or is it...

    KLR Clutch failure

So the Lady and I went for a Sunday drive and on our way to Spice Route just outside Paarl my clutch lever just went pap. I stuttered to a halt thinking the clutch cable snapped, but the clutch cable was fine. I followed it all the way to where the cable connects to the little levertjie which...

    Bike Washing

LOL! My main worry is using car wax or shampoo on my plastics and fading them. I know on the metal it will be fine. It seems most people recommend kleen green, so I'll try that then.

    Bike Washing

So what do you use to wash your bike with? Buddy of mine washes his Harley with Sunlight liquid, apparently that is what HD recommended to him for the mat finish on his bike. I don't want to take something to the plastics on my bike which will cause them to fade. Any suggestions?

    New KLR Rider from Helderberg

Hey all, as the topic suggests I have a KLR 650 which I purchased from Mike Hopkins just at the end of last year. So far I'm loving the bike and I'm looking forward to get involved in the adventure rider scene and meeting some locals. Attached is a pic of my bike
