I have seen this at work and university- I always thought (and still do) it is people who are not used to freedom. Their parents didn’t allow them to do anything, and then the sudden freedom is just too much to handle.

JDs on tracks do less to the road than the normal car. That is the reason for the tracks - to have a far longer footprint to minimise compaction. Wide planters usually also have wheel to weight ratios that won’t do damage, as they will get stuck in fields or increase compaction and fuel use...

Do they plant with a NPK mix or just straight Nitrogen? And how much Nitrogen, Phosphorus and potassium do they apply at planting? My personal rule of thumb was not less than 12kg of P, and above 20kg of N.
