Just 40km or so south from Bloem is Reddersburg with the lekker Sarie Marais hotel.

I lengthened my side stand else the bike leans over too much. My kit came with a new fork clamp Many years later I upgraded the shocks to level the bike out (raising the rear a bit) . standard setup feels a bit like you are riding uphill.

I have moulded noise-ban plugs from the hearing institute here in Bellville. Hard plastic. Perfect fit. I have been using them for over 15 years. No issue on all day rides in any weather It has a noise adjustment screw. Set at 28db (minimum). With helmet on you can just hear someone talking.

If you are up for a bit of loose surface, the D707 from outside Aus to south of Sesriem is an absolute must.
