In 2015 the way the filter was held in place changed from a clip that held the filter in place to a wedge. The wedge design is better for holding the filter in place but the rest of the air filter housing stayed the same.

Converting the route to track is definitely the answer to the problem. Give more details, which Zumo and what is your problem with the route produced from the track. Remember to switch of recalculate, the track will be overwritten with the recalculated route.

GPX is fine. You will experience problems where you try and open a Garmin GPX file that combines a few tracks into one single file. In such a case I open the Garmin combined GPX in basecamp and export the tracks one by one.
