Maybe a few take-aways from this trip, some more valid for solo trips maybe: 1. Make sure to take 2 spare tubes, and check them before a long trip - they sometimes chafe where they are stored. Same goes for patch and solution - and buy that from a reputable bike shop that knows what works...
