    Luggage rack bolt hole oval

Pictures are a bit deceiving. Although the boss is part of the frame it only sits about 1mm proud. I didn't think of welding a nut on there. (y) That might just work perfectly because a spacer fits on top of the boss with rack on top anyway. Will head to The Dorp and find some nuts + Allen cap...

    Luggage rack bolt hole oval

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Have definitely considered that. Problem is how big I need to drill the oval hole to get it round enough to take a helicoil. It is in the subframe and my worry is whether the bigger hole will result in a "cracking point" right there... especially with how much that...

    Luggage rack bolt hole oval

Thanks man... I need to take another good look at how much material is left around that hole and what "oversize" bolt will go in there. I'd have to do it both sides (my ocd will just not allow a different size bolt left and right) and biggest tap I have is M12 so means I'll probably have to buy...

    BREEZE /AIRFLOW JACKET

Just take a cheapy rain jacket with. All you really want to do is stop the "airflow" when temps are a bit cooler

    Luggage rack bolt hole oval

Can't drill any wider or all the way through - I think it'll weaken the subframe too much. Was thinking to maybe weld HT studs in both sides...bit of a permanent solution so want to consider other options before I go there

    Luggage rack bolt hole oval

2 front supporting bolt holes on S10 luggage rack were "fixed" a while back when my top box disengaged itself on a particularly uneven sinkplaat between Mount Stewart and Jansenville. I only use the top box for very light carrying since then, but I guess the "fix" has been a weak point since and...

    Itchy Boots - New Season

Watch her without your wife. If you don't have to worry about the "burn-to-ashes" glares from the other side of the couch, it will be a lot more exciting when you can properly enjoy her riding style. ;)

Where has your bike taken you today?

Heard there was an overnight slow roasted flatrib special at a little spot in Cradock, so klapped it through there for a quick lunch Saturday. Lekker lam-gat on Sunday, but not a bad first practice run for the thousand-miler and it was awesome to spend 12-odd hours in the saddle.

Down on the farm with the Bushlander

Sweet Peter! Lord have mercy on my swole gouty big toes. 😳 Dors starts that and there will be a groove worn in the road between the Eastern Freestate and the Southern Freestate.

    The OOSTFIN "Sethuthuthu" Weekend, 11 - 13 October 2024

Going down to Port Alfred for a week and taking a long dawdle back. If we get home before the weekend I'll definitely pull in for a dop or two on the Saturday afternoon

    The OOSTFIN "Sethuthuthu" Weekend, 11 - 13 October 2024

That route is rough AF currently and pretty much only rideable on a plastic by a fit 20 year old. Old Mill Drift pass is a mess, I wouldn't be happy walking it in its current state. Christo unfortunately sold Bokpoort and now manages another farm in the Slabberts area. I'm sure he'd be moerse...

Was going to be my guess but they have that moerse double-wide main road outside where you could U-turn an old steam train without touching sides.
