Duan had his replaced in Nairobi at about 20000km's and I had mine done back in JHb after 25000km's. Definitely a weak point as the bike with the same tendencies(GS 650 DAKAR) last for at least 40000km's. I have to say that many of our Km's were heavy off road and 15 of those heavily loaded.

Skeet I also did progressive shocks with Hilton and  :thumleft: they are good, front and back all in all cost us R3500, thats a while back but I thought it to be dirt cheap. Man I'd love to give you guys some info on the route your taking, places to see and so on, we did some of what your going...

Is that a TKC infront? Doesnt look like one I've seen. I've heard good things about the Mitas, cant give an opinion though. Don't think the Heidie is the best mud tire though... When do you guys go?

Also Heidies. The 140's out of 3 tyres 2 lasted the whole trip. 1 was damaged when fixing a flat. I would suggest getting the back tyre changing down before embarking on a long trip. The heidie sidewall can be tough to get of and on. After taking the back tire of my bike 8 times it is now easy...

Hi Skeet, Bike looks sweet man. I must say mine has 25k on now and I just loooove riding it! Bud TKC is nice but they do not last long. On our recent trip we had Heidies on the front and I'm still using mine after 15000km's it needs to go now, but I can honestly say that I am very impressed...

Sysie those things will rip holes out of granite, they really are awesome off road tires. They sing songs on the tarmac though so make sure you don't do to much of it....
