If the chain tension is too tight, it'll cause spline wear....also make sure the retainer bolts are torqued up on the front sprocket.

Maybe the oil needs to be changed? Even though Honda recommends 12k km service intervals, I change the oil every 5000kms, with 10 000km oil and filter. I've done this with all my Honda's and never had any issues. I feel that due to the high revs these engines do, its better to change oil more...

That rattle shouldn't be there in my opinion..... Check that your chain tension and drive sprocket are correct and tight. Otherwise take it to a Honda dealer for testing.... possible that the cam chain tensioner is correct. My 2c.
