    Electric vehicles. Wow. Just wow!

Yes and no imo. The purpose of my stats is to highlight the value of an EV, given proper Infrastructure. The infra in the US and SA is still very much lacking but this does not mean EVs are bad. There's also misconceptions about charging times, which my above 1400km trip tries to answer...

BS? Nee hoor: The cost of a Tesla Model S battery pack has seen a significant decrease since 2012 due to improvements in battery technology, economies of scale, and innovations in manufacturing. ### 2012-2015: When the Tesla Model S first launched in 2012, the cost of the battery pack was...

I cannot agree with your "too many negatives" blanket statement though. If one can afford a decent EV, it will outperform it's similarly priced ICE variant in performance and cost of ownership, while as I've now experienced for myself, perform perfectly fine for extended road trips. It will...

Thats all done by the car. I did not plan anything. It's like using satnav: it tells you where to stop and charge for how long, but if you decide to stop elsewhere, or charge shorter/longer, it will, like satnav, adjust the planning accordingly You see? Just get in and drive

Yes. Bear in mind, SC == ~€0.5 /kWh Home charging (without solar) == €0.24 /kWh So that's +36km/l when charging at home which we do 99% of the time (excluding solar which will push it to +-45km/l) 65kkm on the Odo and still no oil changes needed. Still original brake pads. It's basically no...

So I'm back from a 4000km roadtrip Supercharging is much more expensive than charging at home but the cost of SC over 4000km worked out to +-18km/l We drove 1400km in one go, easily If you have the proper Infrastructure, roadtrips with an EV is actually a pleasure 👍

And the tech now exists to curb thermal runaway: https://www.lgcorp.com/media/release/28190 "When the battery’s temperature rises beyond the normal range, between 90°C and 130°C, the material reacts to the heat, altering its molecular structure and effectively suppressing the flow of current."
