    Battery Amps

I thought Motobat was a fancy expensive Li thing, or are you talking something else?  I too am happy with R500 or so per year.  My Osaka at R500 (x2) for two days was however an expensive mistake.  Not to mention an unnecessary stator rewire and new gasket on top of it, after the battery guy...

    Battery Amps

That's my thoughts exactly, but before i completely screw it, I want to try a bit harder to return it.  If the general consensus is that it should be fine for 6 mths so, then fuggit, I'll try it.  Wondering if it will even turn the motor though.

    Battery Amps

Thanks, noted.  It is a Yuasa, which I think is an OK battery, could be wrong.  One thing I learnt last time my battery died, is never buy an Osaka.  Biggest piece of crap out there.  On day two it wouldn't turn the motor over. Looking forward to some more responses

    Battery Amps

I have once again been struck by the 800GS battery killer bug which left me stranded the other day.  Started easily once I managed to find a jump start and rode home no problem.  Yesterday I went to Midas and bought a new battery.  I asked the salesman for a YTX14BS which he promptly gave me, I...

    TYRE ADVISE NEEDED

I just fitted Dunlop trailmax missions to my bike.  A good deal from Sharwoods in PE.  Paid R3200 for the combo and their delivery is free for orders over R1500.  Feels great on tar, have only done a bit of gravel and they seem fine.  I have been using Mitas E07s for quite a while now, but...

Oil viscosity - who can you trust?

A friend have a beach house far from town that he rents out. He had a Lister engine there supplying the electricity. After  half an hour explaining this filler cap is for oil only and the diesel tank is gravity fed from a big drum and loose containers. Many a time he would check after the guests...

    Side stand too short. Solutions?

I think it was (reason for change), the newer one, 2010 (I think) is straighter which makes the overall length a bit more, therefore keeping the bike more upright.

    Side stand too short. Solutions?

I have had the same problem on my 800 for years.  I took the stand off to have a look at it and found that the fork which goes over the frame had grown wider and wider, until it actually formed a crack and bent the (very expensive) bolt.  This meant that the stand had too much play which meant...

    What Camping lantern

I bought a cheapy from Checkers about a year ago.  It is branded "Lumaglo" and is a LED tube about 400mm long.  It has a variable resister type knob which gives one any lumen output one wishes.  Don't ask how many lumens on full brightness, but it easily lights up a 6x4m room, dim is as dim as...
