Anyone know conditions for this weekend in Baviaans? Is it do able by bike (solo) I've done it a number of times but never really had to worry about weather/water levels.

It depends, some ignitions have "wasted spark" which means they fire every stroke ( probably the older ignition systems) but a 4 stroke only fires every 2nd stroke.

Would this be connected direct to battery power (can it be switched off) or must it be connected to a switched circuit?

Top box is a necessary evil unfortunately. So convenient for overnight get away and also to stash a helmet when you don't want to carry it around. That is a BMW soft box, quick and easy to fit and very light weight.

I haven't ridden it yet but 6kg that low won't be a problem for me for now. I'm also nervous of potential warranty problems down the road so cat will stay till out of warranty. In the mean time I will sort out something with the dB killer, probably have one made up.

Sorted for now, I fitted the cat back and this will work until I find a dB killer.
