Easy way to check is is if the exhaust have a big hole or a small "exit" hole. The DB killer fits and bolt inside the exit of the exhaust making the exhaust hole smaller. Photo 1 - without the DB Killer Photo 2 - DB Killer fits into the exhaust making the "exit" diameter smaller and it looks...

For R200 bucks more I'll also go for the Akrapovic. I'm running with an Akrapovic pipe on my F800GS and now on my F800GSA since 2013 and just love the sound. If needed I put in the DB killer if I marshal events just to make it quiet.
