It is looking good at the moment despite all the rain. 4 fatal accidents since late December though.

A nice dirt detour around van reenens is the middledale pass. Off the n3 at harrismith or swinburne, and it comes out at geluksburg. It adds about 40 minutes to my drive in a pajero, but it is stunning.

I'm not sure about it, it is the oliviershoek pass road, and I think the road was very degraded and potholes. Not sure though, I could be mistaken. What car are you in?

This family of Ried buck live in front of my house. Finally got a photo of them with my phone. We also have a pair of oribi, and a couple of grey duiker that are loving the new growth in the firebreak.

And I could braai chicken on the braai in my workshop this evening without feeling guilty...

And they're off... Still a bit wobbly on their wings, and sticking to my workshop, but i think their parents can be proud of them.

Nothing spectacular, I mount the pulley in the vice and clamp the pipe to it, then just bend the pipe. Also used some gate rollers I had lying around for tighter bends.

Feathers appeared today. They really develop quickly.

When I renovated earlier this year I made the builders leave the swallows nests up. They came back this spring and sometimes surprise me by launching past my ear when i walk past.:) And more on my wagtails...
