    USA Bike Culture - Choppers

Very cool! I built up this 650 Star in 2016. First ever build, sourced some parts from the Old bike barn in US as well as imported Shinko whitewalls. A mate did the welding work and spray job which was Brandy wine red with a copper flake from DNA paints. We hand rolled the rear fender from 18...

    CRF300 Rally thread

Honestly if Honda could Just bump this up to a 400 and upgrade to proper suspenders it would be the perfect scoot. Im not talking about a 45Hp this that, just a true 35Hp with 48mm KYB on the front and KYB 50 shock . We would be smiling all day.

Cam Wear. Any examples in SA?

That makes sense, lets hope it is what it is. I forgot KTM's have 2 year warranties instead of 5 on Bmw's.

Cam Wear. Any examples in SA?

KTM representatives have confirmed to MCN that LC8c parallel twin models affected by a camshaft wear issue will be repaired under goodwill, whether still in warranty or not. The issue affects a small percentage of 790 Dukes and 790 Adventures sold between 2018, 2019, 2020, alongside a small...

Cam Wear. Any examples in SA?

But still only those specific year models, which would be out of warranty anyway. What is the decision when it comes to post 21' model bikes?

Opinion on ADV bike selection - R85k Budget

Save up and buy the bike you want and know will do everything. The AT is a great bike, reliable, well priced used, capable off-road and can take a pillion comfortably on long trips.

Take a lot, Temu, Ali Express and alternatives to getting gear

I flip flop on the idea of supporting fake products however racing enduro I go through so much kit and to pay 800 for a top and 2-4K per pair of pants when you need 3+ sets then it gets a bit much. If anyone has done IMPI here you know how those trees tear the gear up. Protective gear in non...

Offroad biased road legal tyre choice, seeking real world experience please

I was going to say, lower your pressure and ease on the throttle. Any bike with decent power is going to spin on hard-pack, even with the gummiest enduro tyres on my plastic it still spins on hard-pack if I open the throttle.

Oil Spill on Hendrik Potgieter Rd - JHB West Rand 07/10/2024

Hi WD, Just got this notice now and anyone travelling that road needs to watch for the oil spill, avoid if you can. It is spilling into other roads and vehicles no doubt will be spreading that oil slick all over.

    Itchy Boots - New Season

I do think it is. A caliper is self contained and small with only a steel braided brake line neatly aligned the top of the swing arm vs a drum lever sticking out and a 40cm rod exposed on the outside of the swingarm. A brake disk is pretty strong and ultimately there are so many protective...

    Itchy Boots - New Season

Interesting choice for her next season and good luck to her. I do wonder how long that rear brake is going to last? it takes 1 fall on a well placed rock and that rear drum lever or rod are going to bend and keep the rear brake dragging or completely fail. hopefully there is some foresight and...

Help: son wants scrambler, dad knows nothing

Is that 20K budget including gear? If so you're going to have to up that substantially. I agree you don't need to have the latest and greatest but when you inevitably get that call that he's picked up his first penny you don't want to regret your decision on not getting the better gear. It took...
